Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
This technique uses patterns in the verse. Look at the image and follow along:
First, we want to remember the Scripture reference, Ephesians 2:10. “Two ten” almost sounds like “two tents”. We can picture a simple tent as an upside-down “V”. Look at the symbols, and say the reference.
The first word of the verse, “For”, can suggest the number “four”. “Workmanship” might suggest a workshop, and making boxes (which have four sides). The pattern of the first part of the verse has groups of four words. So picture three, four-sided boxes, each containing four words. Look at the pictures and say the words.
The next part of the verse does not have groups of four words. But the first phrase has four syllables, then the next three, the next two, and then two final words. This 4-3-2-1-1 pattern could fit into an inverted triangle. Look at the triangle, and say the rest of the verse.
Now go back to the beginning and say the verse WHILE YOU’RE LOOKING AT THE IMAGE. Do this a couple of times a day for a few days, and you’ll have it!
